Inspired by an old Manchester mill I could see in the distance from my bedroom window as a child. It was a scary looking, run down red brick building with broken windows and I dreamt about it. In this painting, I gave it a makeover and realised it resembled the tin mines in West Cornwall I know and enjoy visiting so much - huge reminders of our industrial past and all those who endured a hard life making it happen. This is now one of my favourite paintings.
