The dream that inspired this painting: I’m at a friend’s house trying not say the wrong thing and risk getting a backlash from her. I’m in the bathroom and there’s not a space uncluttered of her things. I feel there’s no respect for my need for space as her guest. Through the window I can see a blood moon shining onto empty houses. I want to pull the shower curtain around me and sail away but there are charms on the rail that obstruct my ability to close it. I'm irritated and wish I was somewhere else. I feel like I want to stick my head in the sand.
