Dream that inspired this painting: I’m sitting with lots of people. A man I used to work with sits on one side of me and on the other, a frivolous girl who reminds me of someone. The conversation is relaxed as we wait for our drinks. David Bowie sits down opposite me, smiling and says ‘Hi.’ I notice his long nails. He pushes a rice dish he’s made towards me and asks if I want it because he made too much. I accept it and feel myself changing, leaving the past behind and moving through a dark, new, exciting space.
