A New Year

It’s January 2026 and like many people I’m setting intentions for the year. I’m doing this through art journaling - creating words and sketches to help me identify what stays, what I’ll leave behind and what I want to explore further. My word for this year is

BRAVE

For me it translates to working bigger with authenticity, increased curiosity and deep intuition. I’ll be sharing more detail on my 2026 plans soon on the socials. Last year, I was delighted to receive an emerging artist bursary from Devon Artist Network to exhibit during Devon Open Studios. I showed ten paintings at The Thelma Hulbert Gallery and The Beehive Honiton during September. More details here:

My artworks usually begin with something that that stands out to me from a dream - a character, colour, place or motif. I enjoy building up many layers and exploring the dream further with paint and mixed media. Influences from the happenings in our world creep in along with memories and my favourite places. The finished paintings feel like the story of my life.
